the obelisk

My obelisk is made of obsidian.

It has no chinks for the intrepid to grip.  It is 72 feet high and sits in a tidal marsh (my movie explains how I got up in to it).

From my window I see

1. the ocean;
2. the far hills; or
3. a tree and both of the above.

The view, like weather, changes.

The obelisk is also a time-piece, and I use it to celebrate astronomical facts.

So far, I have not left the obelisk.  A sand-path to the shore is sifted out of the dunes and one day  I will walk there.
